Eddie Money - Life For The Taking

    By John  Sep 29, 2006

    Pros: Classic Eddie

Cons: Don't like "Maybe I'm A Fool" much

I think this is one of his best records. Nice toe tapping music. "Maureen" and "Love The Way You Love Me" are nice, romantic rock songs. "Rock And Roll The Place" is a hot rocker and "Nobody" is a tear jerker t...hat most folks ought to be able to relate to. "Can't Keep A Good Man Down" and "Gimme Some Water" are sort of commercial standards. "Call On Me" has some nice bluesy guitar playing in it. If you like Eddie, you should hear "Love The Way You Love Me". This was his best ranked album (17 on Billboard) according to Wikipedia. Read more Less

    Worth the "Money"

    By Brian  May 1, 2004

Pros: slick, fun and easy on the ears

    Cons: rather lackluster at times

This release is noteable for one song ..."Gimme Some Water". Great song - rest of the album is okay. Being Money's second release, it shows he's still adjusting to the business. I'm in my early 40's and still spin this bad b...oy and to this day ... still enjoy it. I'm kinda' thirsty -could someone "Gimme Some Water"? Read more Less

Pro Reviews: Life for the Taking

  • All Music Guide

Eddie Money's second album wasn't as consistent as his debut, featuring on a slicker production that relied heavily on current pop trends, including disco and arena rock. Nevertheless, the record had a couple of good tracks, including the single "Can't Keep A Good Man Down."

Eddie Money arrived in the late '70s at the height of album rock's popularity. While Money didn't have a remarkable voice, he had a knack for catchy, blue-collar rock roll, which he delivered with a surprising amount of polished, radio-friendly finesse. He was able to survive in the early MTV era by filming a series of funny narrative videos, something his AOR peers we... Read more
