I have to agree with the guy who said "the only thing better than listening to zao's music is seeing them live". this CD of course kicks ass once again. like always, zao is poetry in motion. here is some hardcore with some depth in it. always be exp...ecting better and scarier from zao. they are hitting the studios again in august (without Russ-he's off to school in Florida:( so brace yourselves folks!!! Lineup changes mean nothing to Zao

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 18, 2000

Ok now considering the fact that Zao is forever changing their lineup, this cd is the best material I have heard from them yet. First off you are listening to the intro and your in a way at peace and then BOOM savannah kicks in and your left in amaz...ement as the next song autopsy hits on. It also features Skin Like Winter which was on a split L/P they did with Training For Utopia, which is one of my favorite songs by them. With Dan's awesome voice, Russ, Scott, and Rob hitting off heavy yet melodic riffs, and Jesse pounding on the drums this is the best Zao cd yet. Read more Less

    Get ready to be bulldozed!!!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 10, 1999

Ok. Line up changes don't seem to affect these guys. Zao is not just a band, they are an amazment to behold. They open up with a song appropriatly titled: Intro. It is a beautiful song and ends with sound clips from the movie Dante's Inferno. We hea...d right into the best song on the cd, Savannah. Wow. This song is nothing less than amazing. "The machine/it falls apart/and when it's cut/it bleeds/the machine bleeds/she was alive." These are the words near the end of the song. All of a sudden, everything drops out except an awesome base line and Jesse sings these lyrics. Everything builds back up and BOOM! You are slaughtered with a wall of guitars and screams."Desire the End" is also a good song. "I desire the end/the touch of Armageddon/this world encased in flames/bodies lie beneath fallen kingdoms." Holy cow! What imagery! Yes folks, the rest of the album is just as good. Compared to "Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest, this cd blows it out of the water. The guitars are absolutely perfect, Jesse is nothing short of brilliant, Dan is right on cue, and Rob adds a lot to the band. The only thing that is better than hearing this cd is seeing them live!
