I have come late to Digilux ownership - it took me a while to track one down. I specifically wanted this camera because it has the combination of true 'point and shoot' and fully manual modes. The camera is a total joy and I have yet to find ...a situation in which I can't get a shot I like. The controls are exactly where you would expect them to be on an SLR and I love the old school look. If anyone is looking to make the move from, say, a high end point and shoot to something more controllable, then this camera could be what you need. Although the price is high, the difference in image quality more than compensates. The only drawback for me personally is that I do like to take very candid, unobtrusive pictures both on set and in the street and this camera is far fom unobtrusive and getting these kind of shots is not easy. To sum up, if you are looking for a high quality camera, with good flexibliity, with robust contruction, with incredible results, which will feel like a good 35mm SLR, then look no further - the Leica DIgilux-2 is for you!
