Legends collects three discs' worth of hits, covers, and live performances from Waylon Jennings, including "The Taker," "Theme From the Dukes of Hazzard (Good Ol' Boys)," "Only Daddy That'll Walk the Line," "Dreaming My Dreams With You," and a live version of "Good Hearted Woman" performed with Willie Nelson. While the set features a fair amount of Jennings' best songs -- ones that he wrote as well as interpretations of others' -- it also becomes weighed down by middling covers such as "Suspicious Minds" and "MacArthur Park." Overall, Legends manages to be big without becoming comprehensive; a set like Only Daddy That'll Walk the Line has a much better balance of quantity and quality.
