The Legend of Speed reviewed by Ryan Smith Starring Ekin Cheng Simon Yam, Kelly Lin, and Cecilia Cheung Directed by Andrew Lau The Legend of Speed is about the best street racers in Hong Kong. It starts off with "Sky" (Ekin Cheng) who is challe...nged by another gang member named "Maddie" to race their motorcycles through Hong Kong and back to their starting point. Since Sky's mom is a millionaire Sky doesn't want to race for money, but in exchange to break the opponents leg if he wins. Sky is considered the best racer of all of Hong Kong, both on a motorcycle and in a car. Years before, Sky's father Black Tome was known as the "Dare Devil" of Hong Kong, until he was defeated by Maddie's Brother Hung. When Hung defeated Black Tome, Hung broke Black Tome's left arm and right leg so he could never race again. After that Black Tome fled to Thailand to start a new life, and everyone considered Black Tome was dead. Sky did not know that his father was still alive, until After Sky was defeated badly by Hung and then framed for Drug possession. Sky's mother then told him that his father was still alive, but she considered him dead (how nice). Sky then goes to Thailand in search of his father. I'm not going to tell you more of the story, but all in all it's a pretty cool movie. They race some nice cars such as Subaru's and Mitsubishi Lancers. Some of the racing is also computer enhanced as well. The action could have been a little more intense, and the middle part is a bit slow. Since this is a racer movie we thought we would give you the opportunity to check it out for yourselves. Keep in mind that this movie is from Hong Kong so you do have to read the subtitles. This is a good movie, if you're in fast cars, fast bikes and EKIN CHENG!
