    You walk by a car, and smell an odor. If you can tell that it's burned trans fluid, hot brakes or radiator fluid, by the smell...then watching this film might be the best thing you'll ever experience short of turning 6,000 rpm in 5th gear. Yes, it ...is old, but there's no Baywatch babes, idle conversation or stupid statements to distract or upset you. This is a driver's film in the utmost. After watching, you'll want to go autocrossing. If you don't know what autocrossing is, forget watching this film. It's not for you. Read more Less

    Get rid of the wife, turn up the volume, this is the best racing movie ever made! Don't look for a very deep plot or some deep dialogue, but for the best camera coverage ever of some terrific cars. I'm waiting for someone to produce this on DVD!

    McQueen was never known for dialog, and Le Mans is no exception. This is a very moody, languid movie that captures a different side of racing. Whereas most racing movies go for the frenetic pace of a sprint, Le Mans moves into the hypnotic groove o...f the marathon. It succeeds in mood and tone, but at the same time its lack of a strong plot also makes it look unfocussed and haphazard. McQueen is at his most taciturn. It's a movie that may appeal to hard-core race fans, but don't look for insight into raceing mentality. Read more Less
