    What more can I say? Jenny continues where she left off in Kansas. A great follow-up (though I prefer Kansas). This is a much more sober, deep searching, and also excellent CD, guaranteed to "Lay You Down" at God's feet!!!!

    A truly golden voice...

    With the vocal power and prowess like that of Sheryl Crow, and distinctive Christian lyrics and original music, this album, like her last, will be on my "Favorites" list for a long, long time. I can hear the presence of God in her songs and I can't ...help but be lifted up by it. Her songs "usher me down, all consuming fire, and diamond in the rough" are sleepers which will do more than entertain if you really listen to them. I can hardly wait for God to bless her... and us... with the next album. Read more Less

    We bought the c.d. and own it and Kansas. They both are really neat. I'm just wondering, Jennifer, when do you guess your NEXT album come out. JK, I know it takes forever. Well, IT'S GREAT,

    jennifer has scored once again with "lay it down". it is a wonderful album, filled with songs that come from the heart. jen expresses her emotions and thoughts in the songs, and it's a musical masterpiece!

    I love Jennifer Knapp and her new album. But I still favor her first release: Kansas. This Cd continues with all the in depth topics and things that have been meaningful in her life but Kansas has more catchy tunes. You should still go out and buy t...his one today. It rocks! Read more Less

    jen doesn't disappoint with this outing. it continues the themes of brokenness, emptiness, redemption and unmerited favor she first explored on "kansas", but her maturing as an artist is evident as she is able to shift styles on this one from songs ...like "peace" which are virtually holdovers from her first release to songs like "into you" which is harder than anything she's done previusly. "you answer me" should receive a lot of airplay. jk also does a terrific cover of a decade-old shawn colvin song ("diamond in the rough") that is a high-light of this cd. there's also a guest appearance by margaret becker. jen branches out on this album, playing electric guitars as well as her standard taylor acoustic. musical experimentation comes in the form of a melodica on "you answer me" as well as performances from the nashville string machine. ms. knapp even takes a crack at the booth, co-producing this release with mark stuart returning for the rest of the production chores.in the vein of artists like sarah maclachlan and jewel, jen shows that music is being taken over by the women. across the board from rock to country it's the female performers doing the innovating in the last few years, and jen is right up there with the best.
