Synopsis: Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003)

This time around, archaeologist and explorer extraordinaire Lara Croft journeys to a temple, sunken underwater, that leads to a sphere that contains the mythical Pandora's Box, only to have it stolen from her by Chen Lo, the leader of a Chinese crime syndicate, who's in league with a bad guy named Reiss who wants to use the Box as a doomsday weapon.

    It lived up to the hype of a summer movie

    This year so far, the summer movies have not been what we as consumers had hope for. However, Tomb Raider was what it promised...a little eye candy, great gadgets, adventurous locations, a little mystery, great stunts and a character you can like bu...t don't want to mess with. the movie started off more like an eye candy fantasy but it finish really strong and was smooth which was the biggest factor. It didn't drag like the Hulk, nor was it just a bunch of explosions (Bad Boys II) hoping to loose the audience in order for them not to remember that movie still needs to make a little sense. Not a whole lot but just enough for us to feel part of the movie. Most people will definitely get a kick out of the last 30 minutes where it did want most movies have lacked this summer...finish strong and don't look back. I definitely recommend this movie. Check it out, you won't regret it. Read more Less

    TR2 didn't change the formula established in the first film, instead increasing the number of villains (5 in this one) and changing the locales (Greece, Africa, China, for starters). There is a fair amount of action and depth-defying stunts, wit...h Jolie deftly portraying a tough gal who loves to mix it up and get herself into dangerous predicaments. Unfortunately we don't get to see alot of the team in this one (the butler and the computer geek), but there is a romantic element in this one, when there was no romance at all in the first. The movie moves at a good pace, and I count only 2 scenes that are unbelievable and over the top. Some of the scenery is pretty, some not, and it's all an entertaining romp, but barely.
