U.K. singing trio the Langley Sisters siblings Gita Langley, Rosie Langley, and Edie Langley are a kind of swampy bohemian update of the Andrews Sisters, singing 1940s show tunes, girl group classics, and likeminded originals with a spirited mix of now and then, and the trio's superb harmonies make them more than a throwback nostalgia act. All three sisters are multiinstrumentalists, and while they specialize in songs from the age of melody, they have a postmodern approach that places them squarely in the 21st century. Gita has done session work as a violinist with Placebo, Streets, and with her husband, U.K. singer and songwriter Ed Harcourt, while Rosie, also a violinist, has worked with Mutya Buena, Envy Corps, and with Harcourt, as well.
