    Pros: Great Album

    Cons: No cons

I totally agree with Lynne's review of this album. It was one of the best albums of the '70s. The album alternates blitz rock songs with tender ballads. Fennelly had an all-star lineup behind up on most of the cuts....the band Argent played o...n many of the cuts, and it is rumored that Jeff Beck played lead guitar on some of the songs. The album was produced by Chris White formerly of the Zombies. I wish this album was available on CD....I have more or less worn out my vinyl copy by listening to it a few thousand times. Pros: Brilliant rock album

Cons: Will it ever be available on CD????

I still cannot believe that this amazing album has not been re-released on CD. It was definitely one of my favourite albums of the 70's. From the crunching power chords of 'Lane Changer' (still one of my all-time favourite rock tracks) t...o the emotive beauty of 'Touch My Soul' this was a masterpiece. I included so many of the tracks on every compilation tape I made for the car for years after its release. If anybody from the record company that owns the rights to this album ever reads these reviews .... please release it on CD for us! A true 5 star classic! Read more Less

Reviewer: Lynne Warner; songwriter.Michael Fennelly led a group called The Millennium that produced an astonishing album around 1968. In the early nineteen seventies he was the leader of the rock band Crabby Appleton -- Fennelly wrote and sang “Go B...ack” and everything else the group recorded -- "Go Back" was a super *Grrr..reat* song with a great hook, dynamic, bursting with energy and as tight as a glam rocker’s spandex pants; it was a Top 40 hit, which peaked at number 36 in June 1970 after 14 weeks on Billboard's singles charts. In 1973, Michael Fennelly released the solo album Lane Changer and in January of 1975 Fennelly released the follow-up to "Lane Changer", "Stranger's Bed".Michael Fennelly’s "Lane Changer", released on Epic Records in 1973, is Fennelly’s first solo album containing intensive and fast blitz rock, beautiful ballads and acoustic love songs. All eleven songs on this album were written by Fennelly; it’s Fennelly on lead vocals and on guitar on all songs and it’s a treasure chest of gems. Not only is it now a precious souvenir of the heydays of rock and roll, it’s a rocker’s candy land, filled with treats to feed your soul. The recording carries an ageless magnificence that continues to touch my soul as well as captivate new generations of listeners. A five star sound recording***** -- it's one of rock's best from a legend; it's music for your senses to enjoy, again and again and again! From amidst the shadows of Crabby Appleton, in the sunlight of his growing, came the birth of Michael Fennelly’s "Lane Changer". Born from an artist whose music makes us feel and be emotional and crazy and tragic as we go through life’s ups and downs like a roller coaster ride, "Lane Changer" is not just about livin’ it up in the fast lane, xxx-rated sex, girls, girls, girls, drugs, booze and rock and roll, ah sorry to disappoint some of you. It’s about sex and partying hardy, rockin’ good times and the bad times, it’s about relationships, love and opening up your heart to someone, feeling the pain that’s felt when a relationship is growing apart or when a relationship has ended, about goodbyes, shattered illusions of love, standing in dark shadows, coming in out of the dark, and standing in the light, the colorful dust of some very special times past. It touches on things like being alone, feeling the coldness of the moment, picking your path, and going home, being flat broke, lies and words that do harm and finding a way to believe again. It’s music that makes you and me feel hi and so lowdown that it’s a shame; it’s music that makes us get in touch with ourselves in all seasons of our emotions, as there are many. So dig in if it’s candy for your soul that you want -- what you want is what you get. ### Read more Less
