This is one of those supposedly unclean "things" that I suppose, must be pulled out of the closet occasionally to be gawked at, like a great-uncle's shrunken head collection. Yeah, Charlie's a guitar player, but not one you'd pay to see or hear. Yeah..., he wrote some songs, a bunch of 'em, matter of fact. Most aren't worth listening to once, but one or two...well, they're eeriely haunting, especially knowing what we (assumedly) "know" about the Manson Family, today (lies, according to Blue and Red and also White Rabbit). These songs were recorded in 1968, in a home studio owned by one of the Beach Boys. I prefer the out-of-print Grey Matter CD release of this material, as it also contains the LP "The Manson Family Sings The Songs of Charles Manson." If you're at all morbid, you'll be drawn to this like a moth to the flame. SOME people really like this album. Love it or hate it, be aware that Charlie doesn't get a penny for royalties on this album, so don't think you're doing him or ATWA (Air, Trees, Water Animals) any favors buying this. Cop no pleas.
