    LG Extra Capacity Washer/Dryer Combo

By Denise  Jan 7, 2008 | 1 out of 1 found this LG WM3677HW review helpful

    Pros: One Stop Laundry

Cons: Towels / Jeans Extra Time

After renovating my rowhouse and installing 1st floor laundry area (hate steps), I saw on HGTV the introduction of this laundry system... After researching I decided to purchase. I LOVE IT!!! It handles my family's laundry (family of 5) though I ...initially bought it with the idea of a family of 2-3 (daughter and her husband moved in temporarily). It is NOT designed for large quilts, comforters, blankets, etc. - take those to a commercial laundromat or have the dry cleaned. However, for every day items, towels (though not too many - it will get thrown off-balance), sheets, etc, it works perfectly. I can set it in the morning or the night before and by the time I come home/wake up - laundry's done. While I'm getting dinner I can fold and distribute. The sanitary cycle works great; and when you set the dry on "less time" you also get less wrinkles. Unfortunately I need to get it repaired - daughter and her husband - after only 2 years of use (won't spin) so we'll see how that works. It's great for 2-3 person household (extra capacity size which I think is the ONLY size ANYONE should consider purchasing) and cleans extremely well. Read more Less

    Buy the extended warrenty

    By Michelle K  Feb 14, 2008 | 1 out of 2 found this LG WM3677HW review helpful

    Pros: Love the concept

Cons: Have to have a regular dryer to dry full loads

I love this washer/dryer. I can put a load in at night and wake up to clean dry laundry. I have adjusted to washing smaller loads to take advantage of this feature. However for my darks I still dry them in a conventional dryer to remove light colored... dog hair. I don't recommend this product for someone who has pets and doesn't want to keep their conventional dryer to remove the pet hair. But I still love it since I can do my whites and colors without going through two steps. Now comes the bad part. Our controller board which has a 2 yr warranty just malfunctioned at 2 yrs 2 mths (or at least they think that is the problem). We are paying $455 to have it replace. And will find out in another week if that was really the problems. Unfortunately for a very pricey unit you have to pay more to get a product that works for a reasonable amount of time. Also you need to leave the door open to let it dry out if you don't use the dry function. Otherwise mold and mildew will form. Read more Less

Do not buy this washer or dryer

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 5, 2009

    Pros: Looks good

    Cons: Doesn't work

LG has built a defective product and is not willing to remedy the problems. The washer does not fully drain in the gasket around the door, causing mold/mildew to build up. Do your research before buying this machine.
