The short lived flury of unbridled talent known as Kyuss, met its demise in 1997. This album is a tribute to the musical genius of that band. The opening cut, a masterful rendition of Black Sabbaths, Into the Void, is not only executed with astonish...ing precision, but is performed with ample evidence of reverence for the original heavy riff masters. A fitting selection for a final effort. The second half of this album shows us not an end, but a new begining. The transformation of the old, into the new. The origins of Qeens Of The Stone Age. If the terminally infectious rythms of, If Only Everything, and Born to Hulla dont spontaneously addict you, it is evidence that you have been playing the previous Kyuss albums too loud, and should consult an audiologist immediately. Kyuss is no longer, yet their talent continues to flourish. Josh Hommes continues to produce his masterful hooks with Queens Of The Stone Age, along with Nick Oliveri, and Alfredo Hernandez. John Garcia fronts one of the hottest new bands of the millennium, Unida. Both groups, along with this album, are a must purchase for all Kyuss fans. Read more Less
