
Following a stint in South Carolina, where he honed his skills as a rap artist, Gemini moved back to the Bronx to unite with Kuwait in 2001 as the duo Kuwait Gemini. Within a year, the duo had inked a three-year recording contract with Stop Records and debuted with U and I Verse. The album highlighted Kuwait Gemini's clever wordplay and lyrical depth. Influened particularly by the Wu-Tang Clan, though also by such other East Coast rap artists as Mobb Deep and Nas, the young duo collaborated with producer Paul Morrison for the album.
