Cascading brew head delivers a shower of hot water to ensure even flavor extraction. Pause and serve feature allows interruption any time during the brew cycle - just remove the carafe. Empty water reservoir detection shuts unit off automatically if empty. High visibility blue illuminated LED control panel for ease of use. Audible signal when brewing is complete. Descaling indicator measures brew time and calculates when descaling is necessary.

    Pros: Really hot coffee and solid construction.

    Cons: Lacks permanent gold filter.

    The secret to a good drip coffee machine can be summed up in a single word, HEAT. Without proper heat (180 degrees) you won't get all the flavor out of the coffee and you will need to reheat after adding milk or cream. No problem with this machin...e. I don't think there is a hotter drip machine out there, and the 1100 watt hot plate will keep your coffee hot. Read more Less

    Pros: Looks OK

    Cons: Coffee tastes like plastic, overdesigned

    Coffee does not taste good-has a plastic taste to it. I cleaned it repeatedly and expected it to improve as I used it but now, a month or two later it still tastes like plastic. Not sure if it's the materials used or if the water is too hot when ...going through the tubes. Also- the water filter probably isn't necessary (they just want to sell you more stuff), and the Krupps cone filter does not fit well. It failed to turn off recently even though the power button was pushed, light was off, it was not in program mode, and that was the last straw-it may have been on all night which is a fire hazard.
