Pros: Size, Weight, Menu Arrangement, LCD Display
Cons: On/Off slide switch, fake chrome, carrying strap
I bought this little camera to replace a Sony Mavica MVC-FD91. I have never regretted the decision. Although I do find that the on/off slide switch feels a bit funky and I don't like the fake chrome on the brushed alloy camera body (the carrying strap looks like an after-thought in the design process) I am very happy with every other aspect of this camera. I like the capability of selecting image quality on a variety of levels through the combined application of various choices in image size and ISO settings. Image quality is good and the color is faithful to the subject matter. The black and white capability of this camera makes it a handy tool for creating images for club and association bulletins. Color me happy....
Pros: high quality images, many functions, flourescent white balancing, great macros, high resolution
Cons: a little hefty, battery removal neccesary for charging, no manual focus
This is my second digital camera. It was appealing to me for 3 main reasons, Macros, 5 MP resolution, and compatabilty with the memory cards I already own. It took awhile to get used to, especially with its vast amount of functions. I suggest reading the manual is one of the first things you do. With the entire ~150 page manual conveniently placed on a CD, its very environmentally friendly. The 2-stage shutter button is also a nice feature, as it allows for a better auto-focus. This is the first camera I've had with a flash, and it takes a much better picture. There are 5 different brightness settings I believe, so you will not have to worry about too much / too little light. Adjustable shutter speed, exposure, and focal distances are just a few more of its great features. A+!
Pros: Good product compaired to price
Cons: Little heavy
Good
Pros: Excellent camera for its price and size.
Cons: Cover slide slightly scrape the body, leaving two scrape marked lines on camera body after using a while.
This Minolta DiMAGE G500 is the younger brother of the Konica Revio KD-500Z digital camera that cost nearly $600 when I first bought it in Bangkok. Almost all the features are the same as with its elder brother, the Konica KD-500Z. Don't expect miricles on indoor shots due to its 5.23 mega pixels ( it will be just like any other top of the line digital cameras ) but it does wonders on all outdoor close-ups and potrait shots. Colors are just excellent and even zooming in on taken picture shots, while still in the camera by pressing TELE button, one can zoom-in and see strands of hair without losing its resolution much, compared to other leading brand digital cameras. The functions are a lot but user friendly and they are all useful for serious digital camera buffs like me. I like this camera a lot due to its size and the quick quality snap-shots I can produce outdoors without the bulk I'll have to carry. Now this little camera goes everewhere I go and my big D-1 is taking a break in my camera show case now until I take planned professsional shots next time!
Pros: compact, audio, movie, 5mp details, fast, flash, zooms pretty fast when button is half way pressed 1st, neck-strap, sturdy, lights, 3 main menu options aren't bad, nice looking, more consistant great pix, takes 2 different memory cards, good battery, offers all resolution modes,
Cons: slow monitor turn on, small 16mp card, the retracting lens instrument seems to be movable, small viewing window, not waterproof/weatherproof, transfer of pictures are a slightly slow, picture viewing software is ok, messenger is new,
Really nice 5mp compact digital camera. Overall, I think this camera was a very good buy for its capabilities. I'm impressed with its behavior. This should be one of the best holiday gifts. The memory card only holds a few pictures, so buy a bigger card! I think there are 3 main menus with lots of options in them. So, it takes some time getting used to it. If you want a very detailed picture where you can zoom in & there's less distortion, this is it! You can choose less resolution if needed from the menu. If you want to email it, might have to shrink the picture or do some cropping unless you lose lower resolution. I'm more happy with this one than the Olympus Stylus 3.2mp digital camera!
