Pros: Easy, Great Pix, cheap, very good optical lens, Incredible Flexibility
Cons: Shutter lag, MP should be higher,
I am amazed at the kinds of photos I can take with this camera. It gives me exceptional results time and again as long as I allow the settings to match the conditions. I also get great results in auto mode.
However, I do get irritated by the shutter lag for missing some amazing motion shots. And I wish I had higher MegaPixels. I will have to upgrade soon to a DSLR to get the quality I want.
In the mean time, this camera can be set to so many different adjustments that it can really create a great image in almost any conditions! I would definitely get it again, and may buy a second one for my kids!
I don't believe you will find an easier camera with these kinds of results for the price.
Pros: could have been good
Cons: kodak repairs are shady
I owned this camera for 6 months when it started making humming sounds and would not flash. I paid 10.95 with the cost of insurance. I was told this camera had corrosion-this camera was rarely used and placed in camera bag when not in use. Kodak voided the warranty and said I would have to pay them $35.00 for shipping. I will never buy Kodak again-other cameras work as well if not better with honest repairs.
Pros: Quality, great pictures, and screen size
Cons: Battery Life! Battery Life!
This camera is perfect for the money. Best value out there, but the only thing bad with it is, if you use alkaline batteries, you will get maybe 3-5 minutes of use. You need good lithium batteries to get any use out of this camera. Use this camera with Lithium batteries and you may find yourself not wanting that dSLR so soon. :)

Cons: NONE
I'd say this was the best performance P&S on the market under $500.00 had KODAK not also come out with the Z812is and Z1012is and not long ago they added the Z1015is theone that I have not yet bought.
Pros: ease of use, Good Zoom
Cons: battery, E-Z share software
I bought this camera to replace a smaller point and shoot kodak digi(C530) and to replace my small bodied 35mm canon rebel SLR. For an amateur shooter looking to occasionally tinker with manual settings this camera is awesome! The zoom nudges out my canon with 300mm lens and the image quality is excellent! My only complaints are that yes, it eats batteries-but when using energizer non-rechargeable liths it still shoots quite a few when given the low battery warning. I wish it shot in raw format as well. Also, skip installing the "easyshare" software which was VERY glitchy on my pc. Otherwise, this camera takes awesome pics and nice video too! The "mode" selector makes nightime skyline shots incredibly easy with a tripod. Even the detroit fireworks turned out awesome!! I paid $179 at a local officemax for this camera and its a bargain. If you want manual control and a nice zoom but dont want to jump to a Digital SLR and also want video capability this camera is perfect for you!
Pros: The images are absolutely beautiful
Cons: When zooming in and out while shooting videos, the image blurs
I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants awesome picture quality. I chose the camera for the shutter speed. I never expected the picture quality to be so good. I have been asked many times (even by professionals) which camera I used to take my photos. I am always more than happy to tell everyone about this camera. I don't shoot a lot of video, so the problem with blurring while zooming isn't an issue for me.
Pros: Many high end features
Cons: No place to lock lense cap to
I wanted a "newer" camera with more zoom and a bigger LCD screen.
The zoom takes time to move where you want it and forever to back up if it over-zooms.
The pictures are great. I get almost 200 pictures before my cheap ($6.95) ebay battery runs dead. Good thing I bought 2 and a charger.
I do wish the neck strap was wider like a standard SLR would have or would accept a wider strap.
It does take pictures quickly from shot to shot. Faster if the quickview is off.
I havn't used all of the features on it yet. It's primarily used for special occasions. I use my Kodak CD33 still for everyday pictures.
Pros: excellent picture quality, easy to use
Cons: quit getting power after a few months
After less than one year of buying this camera, it quit working. It was not damaged in any way and was not used often, but it drained batteries rapidly (within 5 minutes, and that's using the viewfinder instead of the screen) and would not transfer photos without full power. If it needs fixed, the warranty is very limited, and it costs an arm and a leg to send it out for repairs. On-line customer service is absolutely redundant. While the picture quality is fantastic, the software is difficult to use, takes up a ton of memory, and is very intrusive. I loved this camera for about five months until it quit working.
Pros: Excellent Camera lightweight Great photos
Cons: Battery
Have used this camera for about 7 months now, excellent all around camera, easy to use, very nice video quality and sound in video as well. Take spare batteries with you and a couple good sized SD cards and your set. 1 512 sd card will get you 100 shots in 7.1 mp at fine settings. Video will eat up sd card space though , so take a spare with 2 gigs.
Very nice quality camera, nice pc interface as well. I do Digital , to PC to Disk shots for people Real estate, Law firms, Auto shows , and this Camera goes everywhere with me . Love it !!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Very simple to operate
Cons: Battery type
I have used digital cameras for some years now but have always had the same problems in that mostly the shutter speeds are quite bad and too many, hard to understand and operate features. My son and his cousin both have this type of Kodak camera although a bit older, none the less the quality of picture is fantastic.
The only down side that I can find is the battery type. You must use a Lithium, forget any other types. I bought a rechargeable CR-V3 from maplins and it's fine, I would recommend geting a couple however.
I did toy with the idea of a Z812 but came to the conclusion that the HD feature wasn't that important in my case.
I have only used my new purchase a few times but would not and have not hesitated in recommending it to every one I meet, well done Kodak :-)
Pros: Great Zoom Lens
Cons: No EVF Diopter Adjustment
I was looking for an upgrade for my DX6490, and this fit the bill and had more to give.
Shorter lag time, 12x Optical zoom, burst options and higher ISO lets me take great indoor sports pics. The camera body is not as beefy as the DX6490, but the added features make up for that.
Yes, you must the KLIC-8000 battery and charger. I purchased two batteries, the AC charger, Car charger, and updated my older docking station to accept the Z712. So as far as power, I am good to GO!
Pros: Great Shooting, Great Controls, Great images
Cons: ISO's above 400 almost unusable.
From ISO 64 to 200 in auto or manual mode, I haven't a single complaint about this camera. It takes great pictures, the glass is great, the zoom is powerful.
ISO 400 is noisy and blotchy. If you know a bit about photography and a bit more about Photoshop, you can use ISO 400
ISO 800 or higher is pure desperation to get the shot for you memories. I find the images largely unusable. The camera seems to try to apply noise reduction to the high ISOs and does a pretty lousy job. With a tripod and some realistic expectations, you can avoid using the higher ISOs.
Still, I can't tell you the amazing photos I have taken and the even more amazing photos I have seen taken with this camera. And for the 170 dollars I paid, the value is beyond belief. I'd buy it all over again. Coupled with my Kodak 5300 printer, my output rivals anything I've had processed at an in-store lab.
Pros: Great Zoom
Cons: You have had a video option
I bought this camera one week after I had bought the Z710, the price was right and I just needed to have it. I am very happy with it, however, in comparism to the Z710 which has a video option this one does not. I really wished that it was included as part of the features since this camera is an upgrade to the Z710. Rechargeable batteries is a must have for this camera.
