Pros: Hard to find
Cons: everyting.
When it printed fine, the pictures were great...only about 20% of what I've tried to print. Agravating paper jams with disc labels. I wish I never bought it. No easy access to customer service...virtually nill. Kodak is living off its name from the days of photo film. That's all in the past now.
Pros: Good docuement printer, but forget anything with color!
Cons: Color printing is of poor quality and inconsistant.
Don't be fooled by the claims of cheaper ink. You will not get the same quantity of prints from Kodak ink as you would with other brands, so in the long run, it will cost you the same or more as any other printer. I bought this printer because of Kodaks reputation for everything photography and was looking for a good photo printer. Photos are not reproduced accurately with this Kodak printer. I have to clean the print heads at least every third print, which is a waste of time and ink not to mention the photo paper that I have to trash. I have given up trying to get good quality photo prints from this printer and will never buy another Kodak printer. Spend a few extra dollars on ink and buy an HP or an Epson. You will be happier in the end. The money I paid for this printer is a total lose!!!!!
Pros: Cost
Cons: Doesn't always printer well, Ink
I bought this printer because of the cost of ink. The blue didn't always print and I ran out of ink very quickly. I'm also have problems resetting the ink levels. The printer just won't printer.
Pros: Does everything a good printer should do.
Cons: Nothing works if the printer is out of ink.
Keep extra ink on hand. The printer locks up and scanning feature is disabled if there is no ink left.
Pros: price for printer &ink. good help form service
Cons: printer head
it prints good picture but will not print black on paper after only 2months kodak said they would send a new printer head.hope i don't have get a new one every 2months.will see if new head helps,or i just spent over $100 for nothing.
Pros: easy to use, inexpensive, high quality output
Cons: software installation
I have owned my Kodak 5300 for about a week now and have done all sorts of printing with it. It is a solid, high quality unit. Over the years I have had at least a dozen different printers. At present I also have a Canon MP600, which I compare it to. The Kodak wins hands down on ease of use. Quality of prints is about even. The Canon visibly oversaturates at its best quality setting; the Kodak slightly undersaturates. The Kodak is actually truer to what I see on my monitor. One feature I love is how it can scan several photos all at one time and make separate a separate file for each.
Not everything was without problems in software installation. There was a bit of confusion in installation of software. The disk prompts you to go on line to download the updated version but doesn't tell you it takes about half an hour to download even at dsl speed. And there is a point at 123 megs where it looks like it has frozen and they don't warn you of this. So I canceled and restarted, thinking I had done something wrong. It did work out fine when I let it run its course the second time.
I do not use the Easyshare route for printing. I print from the computer and configure my Kodak print jobs the same way I do with my other printers. Used in this way it is a lot simpler than the Canon, which has so many options that it is confusing some times.
I am a teacher and I print out class sets often. The Kodak, with its reasonably priced ink will be my new workhorse for class. As an extra bonus it does a fine job on all sorts of printing. Highly recommende
Pros: prints great pictures, documents and inexpensive
Cons: Bluetooth not compatible with computer
Great printer, great scanner easy to use, the savings on ink cartriges should pay for the computer compared to other printers. photo paper from kodak is better quality than others and better price also. Buying one of these, you win all the way around. I also checked out support at Kodak and it was great. Prompt and easy to access. They returned my e-mails with an answer more quickly than I expected.
