Pros: Takes great pics and 10X zoom

    Cons: doesn't have image stabilization

I've had several digitals, including a Sony Mavica 5.0 MP, and the Kodak Z650 blew me away. I used all of the scene modes, AUTO and played with the Manual modes after I bought it, and then had prints made and WOW! Very impressed! The macro shots ...were incredible color and detail, the 1/1000 shutter speed froze the action just like a 35mm SLR would have, and the cameras start up time is much faster than my old Nikon 5MP. I've already purchased a polorizing filter but haven't used it yet. I think it's great that you can use filters, although most photo software can do almost anything a filter can. I paid $249.99 @ Office Depot and I feel I got a great deal on this quality camera. I also like that it automatically turns the pictures right side up when you take vertical shots. Read more Less

    Kodak EasyShare Z650 Review

Taken on its own the Z650 is a perfectly good camera, one capable of perfectly good results, and one that offers perfectly good value for money. Unfortunately perfectly good just isn't enough in a market this competitive, and the Z650 suffers by comparison to some of its competitors, and because in attempting to 'dumb down' the feature set of the DX line Kodak cut too many important features without offering much in exchange. I'm sure it will sell well (Kodak is no small player in this market), and I'm sure those who buy it will be perfectly happy, but I would certainly look at the alternatives before handing over my money for the Z650.
