From the other reviews, you probably realize its a pretty good sub. I will list a few flaws, but other than that, its a wonderful sub.First, make sure you know how old the sub is when you purchase it. The sub was using the wrong fuse and it blows ver...y easily. Mine blew when I unplugged it from the wall? They put a slow-blow fuse, when it should have been a fast-blow fuse. Klipsch supposedly corrected the problem in newer models, but I purchased mine online brand new about a month ago.This sub carries a lot powerful headroom which is utilized very well for movies. If you intend on watching mainly movies for your system, stop reading this review, and go contact your nearest Klipsch dealer.However, for music it is a little weaker than expected. You lose the headroom because you don't have the separate LFE boost of bass that DVDs provide. Your music will still sound good..and plenty loud. But it does not slam like a front-firing sub. If you are an absolute musical enthusiast, and you have a very large room, you might consider the reference 10" sub. Its about $300 more, but it will successfully match your expectations. Overall, I give this a 4 stars. It lacks some depth at lower volumes for music, but it really shines for movies. Its value rating is not the best. I paid $344 on eBay after shipping. I would not pay much more for this sub though. For your preferences, I do not intend to buy another sub anytime soon. I actually will purchase a new receiver which in the future will send 5 full bandwidth channels using a much better prologic. This will give me more punch through my 10" floorstanding fronts that the current Dolby Pro Logic (for music that is) really inhibits. Read more Less
