This Artisan Series model features a tilt-head mixer designed to give you easy access to the bowl and beaters. Tilt-head design allows clear access to the beater and bowl. 10-speed slide control ranges from a very fast whip to a very slow stir. 'C' dough hook kneads yeast dough for bread and pizza recipes.

    Pros: Cook like a pro. Not just for Baking.

    Cons: Not cheap and accessories are through the roof.

    I have cooked almost all of my life and I had never used a stand mixer. I now know I missed out on a lot of easy preparation recipes for baking and general cooking that used this contraption. I purchased the Artisan Mixer(In Black) from Macy's in... early October for $299.00 and it was well worth it. I've been cooking my own pizza from scratch, baking Italian breads, Italian Sausage and using the mixing qualities of this well designed and heavy as hell mixer. The only thing I can say is definitely costly is the attachments. They are expensive. All said if you want to cook like a Food Channel pro this mixers for you. Read more Less

    Pros: it's everything they say it is

    Cons: it's a minor investment

    in my twenties I decided to own fewer things but to make sure they were of high quality. In 1982 I bought a McIntosh power amplifier. It's built like a tank but I still have it. The Kithenaid mixer is another McIntosh amp.
