    Should be Gov't Safety Recall

    By nycupperes  Dec 3, 2009

    Pros: Looks Good

Cons: The Switch Membrane OFF BUTTON STOPS WORKING

This is a serious safety issue and there needs to be a Government Safety recall. My part 9756559ES or P1-SWTCH - MEMB stopped working after just a few months.

They don't answer their phone, they put you on hold forever.

    Don't buy it

    By Lori  Oct 13, 2008

    Pros: Looks great

Cons: Can't use it to cook

I have NEVER been able to cook a full meal in this range. I have had TWO seize on me after Self Cleaning them. In May my first range was delivered. I was so excited to get it, so I decided to cook in it. What a mistake! Every time I used it it would smell so horribly of burning rubber, that my family and guests would have to step outside. Kitchenaid assured me that it was just normal "burn off". They suggested I self clean it to completely burn off the factory coatings. It seized and never worked again, it was replaced under factory warranty. The second oven arrived in July, and the EXACT same senario unfolded. So tomorow I am gettting my third range in 6 months. (it is not a Kitchenaid)
If you are buying this to look at, great...but if you are buying it to cook in, think twice!

Over priced and does not work properly

    By Barbara  Aug 31, 2008

Pros: As stated, this stove looks nice.

Cons: Within three months the panel had to be replaced. They ordered the wrong piece. Then the service people scratched the stainless steel trying to get access to the electronic panel. They ended up having to take the whole stove out and remove a trim piece that went around the stove before they could get access to the panel so it was three trips. Then, less than 2 years owning the stove, the off switch did not work and we had to throw the breaker in order to turn the stove off. The top does not stay clean and is not that easy to clean even with the sealed burners. The burners sometimes do not ignite so multiple tries are necessary to get the burner to light. This stove should be recalled, it is a safety hazard and simply does not work.

    Safety Problem - Off button

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 27, 2008 | 3 out of 3 found this KitchenAid KGRS807SSS Architect Series II Gas Range review helpful

    Pros: very nice looking stove

    Cons: very bad control pad

I like this range and it's electric heater helps even out the temperature in the oven. HOWEVER the oven OFF button didn't work right out of the box and required service to replace the entire keypad. The new keypad OFF button has again stopped working - twice within two years. This is a safety issue with an oven that can't be turned off.

    Defected Meat Senor

By Ivy  Feb 2, 2008 | 0 out of 2 found this KitchenAid KGRS807SSS Architect Series II Gas Range review helpful

    Pros: Nice and slick looking

    Cons: Defected meat senor

This stove has a known factory defect on the meat sensor inside the oven. The brand new oven didn't work till the meat senor being replaced. Kitchenaid knew about the problem but didn't either recall the defected units or communicate that with the store. Horrible business practice. I will never buy any Kitchenaid products ever again.
