Hey your boyfriend's big and hairy!!!
Great special effects especially with the monsters battle scenes and great shot of Jessica Lang. Morale of story...Trying to win the love of a woman may lead you to your death even if you're King Kong.

This was the first time I saw the remake as an adult. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid in the late 70's. Jessica Lang is SO 70's in her silver outfits and talk of Zodiak signs and therapy. I was surprised by Jeff Bridges response to Jessica's predicament at the very end of the film. I thought it was good, mature. However, I did notice that on the DVD version there were some parts cut out. I didn't see the scene where the sailors are peeping into Jessica's window, the scene where Charles Grodin's hat is shown after Kong steps on him, and a scene where Kong overturns a car on the street. Yet it was still worth watching.

THE 1976 REMAKE WAS PANNED BY EVERY CRITIC OUT THERE,BUT I ENJOYED THIS VERSION OF KONG.THE EFFECTS WERE COOL AND VERY DETAILED MINITURE SETS HELP PULL IT OFF(NOTE THE GRAFFITTI ON THE MINITURE TRAIN)THE MECHANICAL HANDS USED TO GRAB JESSICA LANG WERE A LOT MORE REALISTIC THAN THE 1933 HAND THAT HELD FAY WRAY.THE CHARACTERS GET WHAT THEY DESERVE,BUT YOU MUST PAY A PRICE.

THis was a good king kong movie the very original and some of the best scenes of this movie was when king kong kicked the tyrannousaur's butt and breaking his jaw, killing the pteracatly flying dinosaur, and killed that giant snake-like creature, I really liked this movie.
KONG KONG ESCAPES is the best king kong movie ever King KOng in this movie is bigger than this king kong. KING KONG ESCAPES is a combination of the original king kong and the new king kong 1976 color version, but it is much better then both movies combined. King kong also saves a woman from being eaten by a tyrannosaur's like dinosaur named GOROSAURUS and king kong did the same thing to GOROSAURUS break his jaw and he also fights a giant sea serpent.
But the best part of KING KONG ESCAPES is that KING KONG fights a giant robot KING KONG named MECHANI-KONG at the end of the movie and they fight on top of TOKYO TOWER and king kong knocked MECHANI-KONG off the tower and the robot ape broke apart. KING KONG ESCAPES IS NOT posted under the king kong collection. I have the movie it is awesome I recommend that people should watch KING KONG ESCAPES becasue it is much better than the original king kong and KING KONG 1976 versions combined.

Most people view this movie as a horror movie about an over sized ape that falls in love with a human girl, and the tragedies he endures by being connected to her. When in fact this movies is one of the greatest examples of the white mans quests to dominate the world. This movie was the epitome of the white mans attempt to steal everything that is not naturally theirs. In this movie their quest was to take the indigenous peoples natural resources-the oil, their island and even their God. Yes Kong was the people's God and I wish the film had created commentary at the end to show how the peoples lives were ruined after the departure of Kong.
King Kong has one of the best soundtracks ever made. John Barry out did himself on that one. The actual movie soundtrack is so hard to find that I ordered it from a website in London. It was worth every penny I paid. My favorite scene is when the natives capture Dwan and brought her to the marriage ceremony, and the introduction of Kong for the first time, is still hair raising. Overall, for anyone who has seen King Kong from the 30s and has yet to meet Kong of the 70s, he comes to life. And if you are a big 70s fan, like I am, you will relish just looking at the clothes, the hair styles, the jargon and the music. Enjoy!Was this review helpful? Yes - No
