    Pros: Awesome southern rock!

    Cons: none

Kid Rock has finally sucked me in. He is showing his true colors in this awesome southern rock, southern pride, and dedications to love gone bad. Far better cry from his rap side. This comes natural to him and its obvious. Bring it on! I loved it!

    Cons: This Sucks

Has anybody ever heard of the new Chimaira album The Impossibility Of Reason? As The Palaces Burn by Lamb Of God? Lethal Dose of American Hatred by Superjoint Ritual? or how about The Rise of Brutality by Hatebreed? Now those albums are way more better than this crap. Do me a favor and sell your stupid Kid Rock cds and listen to these albums.

I LOVE THIS CD... I CAN'T BEAR TO TAKE IT OUT OF MY CD PLAYER. HE REALLY ROCKS. YOU CAN HEAR HIS VOICE SO CLEARLY, HE SOUNDS GREAT AND HAS COME ALONG WAY MUSICLY. IT DOES SOUND LIKE SOUTHERN ROCK, A LITTLE COUNTRY. BUT OVER ALL EXCELLENT!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR HIM TO COME TO LA. I'M DYING TO SEE HIM LIVE. I WOULD EVEN FLY BACK EAST TO SEE HIM! LOVE HIM!

    Pros: Good ol' country rock

    Cons: Good ol' country rock

Kid Rock identity crisis. Oddly it almost works as his progress toward more of a southern rock feel is overshadowed by the lack of rockin' upbeat songs. I am absolutely shocked by the departure from his rap-rock glory and the new sound but after a couple of spins a couple of the songs really do grow on you.

This will no doubt be a LOVE IT / HATE IT album for Kid.

Any guesses on whether he will finally dump Pamela for someone with class? Hee Hee.

    Good but not Kid Rock

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 18, 2003

Pros: Great music, if it were any other band

Cons: Not what I was expecting especially after Cocky

I could not wait for this CD to come out. I put it in and started listening. Rock and Roll Pain Train is the first song. It’s pretty good. I’m thinking that I might like this but as the songs played I realized that KR sold out and went commercial. There are no good new phrases like “I got this sown like Betsy Ross” or “it stinks in here because I am the sh*t” No… it’s lame. The remake of Bad Company’s “Feel Like Making Love” what a joke with that chick moaning. What were you thinking about Rock? The second song with Hank Williams Jr… terrible. The last four songs are so mellow I could not even listen to them. Now if this was any other band I would really like it but this is not what I was expecting from Kid Rock. Cocky was a great CD, Devil Without A Cause was incredible. History of Rock excellent. This CD is mainstream commercial music. If you are an old school diehard KR fan you will not like it. If you like country or if you thought “Picture” was a great song then buy it.

    The Rock has gone soft

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 17, 2003

    Pros: None

Cons: Too many ballads, nothing that actually Rocks

Kid Rock, this is more like "Grandma Softy". The whole CD is ballads and most of them aren't even good ones. Kid has made too much money and now he's just putting out CD's for the sake of putting out CD's. He doesn't have to bother with actually making good music anymore. The Devil Without a Cause CD is good music and so is American Badass and a few songs off of Cocky.

I'm going to give away his latest CD. Every song is slow and I couldn't even listen to most of them all the way through. Kid, try harder next time.

    Pros: Music

    Cons: Lyrics

I think this is a glimpse into a singer/songwriters soul. And I for one enjoy the journey. I think this is getting deeper into himself, not since some of the unreleased tracks that came out on History fo Rock have I seen the depth put into his songs. The only draw back is that the lyrics aren't as strong as they could be.

Pros: This album shows more of Kid Rock's true talent.

Cons: I could of use at least one song that would make me wanna "get in the pit and try to kill someone"

A far departure from Devil Without a Cause, Kid Rock is out to prove that he can rock any genre of music and pull it off believeably. He always does what he wants to do and not what the public expects him to do. This a great album.

    Kid Rock

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 12, 2003

    Pros: Talent, Lyrics, Kid Rock

Cons: Voice was weak on a song or two

This album is a great album and I am glad to see Kid branch out and try new things. The first single (the Bad Company cover of) "Feel Like Makin' Love" gives a new twist on a classic tune. The album will be a disapointment to the hardcore rap fans. But, what this album lacks in rap it more than makes up for in musical talent. Some great songs to check out are Cold and Empty, Intro, Rock N' Roll, and Run off to L.A. The song Jackson, Mississippi really rocks and he gives a great nod to a city that can really use it.

I give Bob his kudos for keeping it interesting. In an era where bands are a dime and dozen and great albums are few and far between...he keeps me interested. If you are a true Kid Rock fan you will not be disappointed with this album. If you are a fan of rap then you might be well advised to spend your money elsewhere. Otherwise, this album is great....two thumbs up. Oh yeah and Bob break out the Hammond more...Jimmie Bones can hit the keys!!!

Pros: Its Kid Rock- Good quality "jam factor"

Cons: Might be a little mellow for some

Kid Rock shocks us all again. His versatility is unmatched- Rap, Hip hop metal southern rock even his seemingly prefered style country. Old school fans don't despair, I am sure he will change gears on us again. There is a southern sound on this release, also some good old fashioned blues, check it out!

    Kid Rock rocks

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 12, 2003

Pros: shows his musical progression, he can actually sing not just rap

Cons: a little mellow, maybe could'e had one or two more rockin songs

Kid Rock isn't for everyone. But one thing, no one can dispute, there is no other "artist" out there doing what he is. This new album seems like the natural progression for him. He showed hints of his country side toward the end of his last album Cocky. This album takes the Rebel Flag and runs off with it, guns blazin'.
Only two songs he actually "raps" in. One is a short intro, and then the song "Hillbilly Stomp" is the familar American Bad Ass. His remake of Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love" is o.k. The song "Son of Detroit" has a classic ZZ Top like beat. Mix it with Kid lyrics and it makes a good road trip song. The opening "Rock n' Roll Pain Train" is a solid southern rock song that shows off how far Ol' Bob Ritchie has really come. He teams up with Sheryl Crow again. She sings back up on "Run Off to LA", which is a great song.He also teams up with Hank Jr. on "Cadillac Pussy".
Kid Rock seems to have matured greatly. He really mellowed out, but he also bares his soul.

    Pros: Catchy tunes

    Cons: Too many slow songs

You have to admire what Kid Rock has been able to accomplish over the years. He can do it all! I was skeptical because I hadn't heard anything off of the CD before I bought it but, WOW! It has great lyrics and very catchy music but there may be one or two too many slow songs. Overall, this CD is well worth the money. Buy it. Do it now!

Southern bluesy country rock well done.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 12, 2003

Pros: Good mix, great Kenny Chesney co-write.

    Cons: More mellow than expected.

Kid does a little bit of everything here. Co-writers include Hank Jr., Sheryl Crow, and Kenny Chesney. The Bocephus song (Cadillac Pussy) is definitely for the sex loving people in the world. Sheryl's song is a great break-up song about just wanting to be friends. The KC co-write (Cold & Empty) is probably my favorite song on the cd though. I could definitely see KC releasing his own version on country radio. Definite hit. Everything else is Kid's usual rowdy take on the way things are or are gonna be. Overall good stuff but if you're looking for more Devil... Look elsewhere.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 12, 2003

Pros: Vocals sound better. The band is tight.

Cons: Too much much country. Too melow.

Cocky introduced a nice blend of hip hop, straight rock, southern rock, and just a touch of country. It worked and Cocky was a great album. This album is basically just southern rock and country. Don't expect anything like Cocky, History of Rock, or Devil Without A Cause. For the old school Kid Rock fans .... don't expect anything close to his early hip hop works. It's a good album with a few really good songs. It just doesn't live up to the hard-hitting Kid Rock of the past.
