Pros: Effectively cleans tiny smoke particles, QUIET!!, Variable settings including automatic, Tells you when to clean the filter, Lightweight - easy to move if needed

Cons: Replacement filter is expensive

I bought this during the massive 2007 firestorm threatening Southern CA (which is still raging as I write this). I fall into the "sensitive group" regarding air quality - for me, exposure to someone else's cold or any kind of smoke or certain chemicals will trigger a 4-6 week severe lung infection in me. I started getting a sore throat in the first day of the CA fires in spite of staying indoors and knew I was headed for another severe lung infection. I did some quick research online, and did some calling around, and found only the floor model was remaining at a local Sears. WOW!!!! This does the job extremely EFFECTIVELY and QUICKLY on the dangerous wildfire smoke particles. EXCELLENT FILTER SYSTEM, but wish SEARS would sell the parts of the filter system separately to make it more affordable as the whole filter system does not need to be replaced annually.
