Hard rock heavyweight Ozzy Osbourne's youngest daughter and his co-star in the smash MTV series The Osbournes can now add a hit single to her resumé. Kelly Osbourne's rendition of the 1986 Madonna classic "Papa Don't Preach" reached number 28 during the first week in the national Top 40 of radio airplay. The punk-influenced perspective provides a welcome contrast to all the other pop performers of her generation.
This second-generation rocker, with the help of Epic Records, recorded her first album in 2002. As a co-writer of most of the material, she joins a team of tunesmiths led by Epic executive and "Papa Don't Preach" producer Rick Wake, who has previously worked with such successful songbirds as Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Jennifer Lopez.
