After being out for almost a decade, "Keep the Fire Burning" was re-recorded by early-'80s diva Gwen McCrae and released in late 1994. Produced by Stevie V., the house track appeared in a double pack of remixes, including ones from Roger Sanchez, J.J., Stonebridge and Rob Below.

Soul singer Gwen McRae has stayed on the fringes of the charts from her initial recordings in the late '60s into the 1990s. Born in 1943 in Pensacola, Florida, she was 25 when she made her recording debut in 1969, for Alston Records, on a duet with her husband George McRae.
