Originally intended as a pilot for a weekly television series in 1969, THE BALLAD OF ANDY CROCKER is considered the first film to deal with the real-life indifference veterans faced upon returning from Vietnam. It stars Lee Majors as a disillusioned Vietnam vet who returns to his hometown only to find that his girlfriend has married, his business is in shambles, and his friends have abandoned him.
