Kalaparusha Difda
The outstanding Chicago musician better known as Maurice McIntyre. He was a founding member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians in 1965, and made his recording debut as a sideman on Roscoe Mitchell's album Sound. McIntyre played drums as a child in Chicago, later switching to clarinet and sax and receiving lessons from Warren Smith, Sr. He's performed and recorded with many other AACM members, among them Muhal Richard Abrams.
