First off to all the people that say Justin needs to write songs about other things besides life experiences, Duh hello, thats where songs come from for most people, try writin a song and see if it doesnt come from something u think about something e...lse! back to the album... every song is good in its own way, they all have a thing about them that makes them grow onto you. Cry Me a River, is my favorite because i feel what he's talking about, and when u can just feel the song then it makes it that much better. I really hope he does another album with the neptunes and timbaland and pharrell, i recommend this album to people who wanna hear something a little different and to people who do understand what his songs are saying! Unexpected Surprise

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 2, 2003 | 2 out of 2 found this Justified review helpful

Not exactly being a pop fan, I bought Justified with some hesitation... mainly buying because I heard that he had collabbed on a track with Brian Mc Knight. After listening though, I was hooked. The song "Nothing Else" was an incredible coming toge...ther of the minds for Timberlake and Mc Knight, as well as the notable songs "Rock your Body", which to me sounds like a modern up-tuned version of MJ's "Rock With You". And all the Timbaland beats were definitely vibin, expecially that Indie flute in "(Oh No) What You Got". While I may not exactly be running out to pick up N'SYNC POP anytime soon, I think I have made a good investment in diversifying my music collection. I only give four stars though cause I'm pretty sick of the boo-hoo Britany attitude that he took in "Cry Me A River". Read more Less

    Album underrated

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 6, 2003 | 1 out of 1 found this Justified review helpful

Justin Timberlake has proven that he has what it takes to be a solo star. A lot of people are making a big deal about Justin choosing to do an R&B album, coming from a pop group. No one made a big deal when Pink crossed over from R&B to Pop!!! Justin...'s got Blue-eyed soul. Don't hate. Celebrate! Read more Less

Please get over yourself. Something doesn't suck just because twelve year old girls like it. This is an amazing album. If you don't like it buy something else, but save us your attempts to convince the rest that your cool because you listen to Pet...e Yorn. Read more Less

    Justifying Justified

    Pros: Excellent music

    Cons: Dunno

This is probably the first English pop album I ever bought. I never listened to JT in NSYNC or any other bands whatsoever. When I listened to his single, "Rock Your Body", I liked it. I bought the album for only that song, but when I tried ...to fast-forward to the song, I realized that all the songs leading up to it, and the songs after it, were just as good if not better. Justified somewhat tries to touch on several genres: pop, RnB, country, a bit of New-York style dance (dunno what they call it), and even a bit of Jazz/Latin. Senorita is a nice Jazz track that starts off the album. "Like I Love You" has good string arrangements. "What You Got" is also a nice track, along with "Take it from here", which has rather amusing lyrics (' I wanna be your mother... wait...'). "Cry Me a River" was also an awesome track, mainly due to the Gothic atmosphere it created. "Nothing Else" has an excellent percussion arrangement. "Last Night" was a good number with violins. "Still on My Brain" was too slow of a ballad. I didn't pay much attention to it. "And She Said" was probably the first "sexed-up" song I ever liked. "Right for me" is quite hip. "Let's Take a Ride" also caught my attention because of the atmosphere it evoked. I actually like this album much better than his new one, which I have not found attractive by the least bit. Good First Attempt

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 13, 2004

    Pros: Excellent

    Cons: Needs more vocal skills

Mr. Timberlake's "Justified" is a complete menagerie of well toned up tempos with strong productions. Vocals can be a little better but above all, he's got it going on. The funky "Senorita" which was produced by The Nept...unes showcased Timberlake as a funky white boy. The bassline was funky as hell. Every song after that flowed nicely. The tones from Timberland could be better produced. They sound rushed and hurried. The Neptune tracks were easy and laid back. They took their time with those. Overall, Timberlake needs just a little more vocal quality and skill to himself. He sounds good but a little harried at best. Album gets a thumbs up from me! If you want slamming funky grooves and sensual ballads, then this is the trick for you! Grade: B- Read more Less
