This album is probably one of the finest sets of Barbara ever. I bought this album back in 1980 when it was first released. I paid $129.00 dollars then, And now I will buy it again. It is a brilliant accomplishment of songs and feel this is a very special and rare set. I urge anyone to buy this collection, as it is without a doubt, The best of all her albums. Buy it Buy it. you won't be sorry that you did.

I absolutely love Streidand's "Just for the Record." It's a wonderful box set highlighting her early years to today. If you love her voice you'll enjoy all the great songs that made her what she is today. And if you want to start collecting her music and don't know where to start, this box set will give you the best of Barbra Streisand. Enjoy!

Whether it's on sale or you pay the full amount... This is just a melange of self-praise and bile. Though "Babs" has a great voice, her personality has become larger than the music. She has become absolutly sickening and she really does need to just disapear and grab a life, rather than grabbing yet more money from her blinded fans. If there are indeed people foolish enough to waste hard earned coin on this travesty... a word of advice: Wait a while. Perhaps you'll find it in the cut-out bin.

The legend of Barbra Streisand is seemingly endless, although it's no wonder that her popularity remains so intact in an industry that pumps out very little vocal talent. One has to commend Barbra Streisand for her steadfast ability to remain at the top of the "masses" most beloved female vocalists; however, if you peel the layers of production down to the most basic elements, you'll be hard pressed to find even a few real "gems". It's undeniable that Streisand has a glorious vocal ability, but perhaps it is her mystique that has reeled in the cult following that seems to focus on Rainbows and Gay Pride. With all that said, there is not a whole lot new or special in this collection. Easily passable.

Streisand is undeniably the greatest female recording artist alive. This collection again proves it. Her voice is simply an incredible instrument that she utilizes to its fullest potential.

where the Good Lord split you. She has a decent voice but $40+ plus for over-produced pablum is way too much. BTW, wasn't Babs leaving the country?

When it comes to popular music and standards, there is no one better in the genre than Streisand or Sinatra. Streisand has the voice of the century. She's as near to perfection as one can be and her reading of a lyric is simply superb. This collection proves she's one of the all time greats.

Don't get me wrong, I love Barbra but if she soon doesn't get off her high horse and record something new pretty soon, her fans, me included, will say "See ya Babs!!" Married life must be TOO GOOD for her, guess she doesn't need her career anymore??
