She moved to Nashville after a stint at the University of South Carolina, to attend Belmont University and maybe find herself a career as a recording artist. After college Roberts worked in the offices of Mercury Nashville but didn't let on about her aspirations, spending nights singing with local combos and laying down demo tracks.
