Ambient, instrumental postrock ensemble Joy Wants Eternity had its origin in a Seattle basement in fall 2003, as a response to an ad requesting all instruments for experimenting with walls of noise. The end result was the fivepiece of Emory Liu (drums), Salvador Huerta (guitar), Michael Sterling (guitar), Rob Thompson (guitar, Rhodes) and Daniel Salo (Rhodes, bass, guitar).
