Johnny Wicks

Johnny Wicks
An unbelievably obscure outfit from Louisville, KY, who cut one session for Chicago's United Records in 1952, Johnny Wicks' Swinging Ozarks were partially rescued from historical oblivion by Delmark boss Bob Koester, who bucked the commercial odds by issuing an LP of their United material. Wicks played bass; Preacher Stephens blew tuba and sang.
