In 1974, Johnny Moped (b. Paul Halford) became the frontman for a group initially known as the Black Witch Climax Blues Band and then, from 1971-1975, Genetic Breakdown. Including drummer Dick Berk, keyboardist/bassist Fred Berk, bassist Phil Burns, guitarist Ray Burns, and unknown commodity Xerxes, the band experimented with several more names, including Johnny Moped and the Five Arrogant Superstars and Johnny Moped's Assault and Buggery.
