Pros: It's a Deere. Great time of year for a great deal!

Cons: Lacks some features.

Well at the end of last season my "GREAT" Craftsman LT1000 died and I had to push mow the last couple of times. I told my wife all through the winter that I was going to go with something different than a Craftsman this time.

I must of read hundreds of reviews over fall and winter so I would not rush into a spur of the moment buy. I did not want to pay $2000.00+ for a mower I only have a little under a acre. So to make a ling story short I choose the John Deere LA110.

Now on to the good stuff first.

1. The 19.5 HP B&S engine is a beast! My former Craftsman LT1000 had a 18 HP B&S And is nothing to this 19.5 Briggs. I have a steep hill and the Craftsman took everything it had to make it up the hill on the driest and nicest day. It scared me sometimes. The John deere LA110 Went up the hill the other day with snow on it with no problem.

2. The great choice of Attachments Everything you need and more to make your yard and grarden the toast of the town.

3. Full-pressure lubrication and oil filter keep oil cleaner for long engine life and extends time between oil changes.

4. Two-pedal automatic transmission for easy speed and direction changes.

5. Finilly the cup holder.

The Bad

1. It did not come with the hour meter to make sure oil and lubes are done when needed. I had to buy it on my own and it was 25.99.

2. It does not come with cruise control like some of the bigger models.

3. I had to pay for a bumper. The one I liked is one the LA150 The double bar bumper it cost me 100.00 with tax.

I got a really good deal from Lowes out the door with a tool bag and seat cover with tax $1495.00.

I have not yet mowed with it so I don't know how it will do but I think it will do alot better than my old Craftsman LT1000.

Fuel problem

Pros: Good overall

Cons: Water in gas tank

After my third time mowing the mower quit. The dealer said it had water in the gas tank, and he had several others with the same problem. I later found in the manual that condensation can build up if one doesn't empty or keep the gas tank full. I believe this is a serious problem that all owners and dealers should be aware of.

Pros: All the features one needs,more if you purchase them.

Cons: Gas hogish.Options are expensive.(90.00 bucks for a bumper. (PLEASE)

This LA110 is a neat little machine. Plenty of power,quiet,smooth,easy operation.Price is right for the perks you get.Can ride all day in comfort.Easy to transport.On and off a trailer a snap.I'll tell you later how it holds up under a work load.
