Acclaimed for her interpretations of the music of 18thcentury Irish harper and composer Turlough O'Carolan, hammered dulcimer virtuoso Joemy Wilson was born and raised in New Haven, CT. After studying piano and violin as a child, she moved on to voice lessons in high school; first picking up the fretted dulcimer while attending Barnard College, she graduated to the hammered model in 1979. In the decade to follow, Wilson emerged as a leading force in the resurrection of Celtic music, playing countless festivals and recording a series of LPs for the Dargason label.
