Joe versus the Volcano
Before castaway there was Joe. And it was good! While this movie is more slow paced than most adventure comedies it definately grows on you each time you see it. With great music and subtle touches in both the script and the sets you find something new everytime you see it. Plus you get Meg Ryan times 3! :-)

I've seen this for over 6 times..though it's not such a BIG movie like TITANIC..
What life can be if you know the truth? Joe(T.Hanks)had a very lousy job in a giant factory,obviously he is losing his patience to stay in this gloom office where people are always repeating nonsense..BUT he soon find from a doc that he got a incurable disease of "brain cloud"..The disappointing news gives him guts to get out of his lousy life. With a good offer from a rich man, Joe decides to jump into a vocalno on a small island off the Pacific..and thru the journey he finds his true love and that the disease was made up bu his doc..

Boy hates life. Boy gets diagnosed with fatal disease. Boy quits job and goes on adventure. Boy meets girl. Girl hates boy. Boy falls in love with girl. Girl falls in love with boy. Boy jumps into valcano.
The original movie with Tom hanks and Meg Ryan -- they have an incredible on-screen chemistry and the soundtrack is great. easily one of my all-time favorites!Was this review helpful? Yes - No
