The preeminent producer of the British folk-rock boom, Joe Boyd was actually born in the United States, first becoming involved in the music business during the early 1960s while a roommate of singer Tom Rush. In addition to promoting Tom Rush's earliest New England-area live performances, Boyd also wrote liner notes for releases by a variety of local artists.
