Spanish singer/songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat got involved in music at the age of 16, when he got his first guitar. In 1960, the artist participated in a pop band, playing along with classmates at Barcelona's Agronomy School. In 1964, while singing in a radio show called Radioscope, host Salvador Escanilla helped him to get a record deal with local label Edigsa and he recorded his first EP in 1965.
