Born Carlos Eduardo López Avila in London, England, Jeremias (his father gave him his name at 11 as a way to stand out) lived much of his life in Venezuela, where his family was originally from. With his parents' encouragement, he involved himself heavily in music, taking guitar and singing lessons, writing his first song by age eight.
