    I remember these songs from when I was soooo young and they brought a smile to my face, thinking about my favorite song, Young Love, that song was my ANTHEM!!! it's nice to hear it again!

    Janet Jackson's self-title debut contains bubblegummy glittery soft-pop 80's music and these tracks aren't half bad. The problem with this is that Janet has an aspiring singing voice but doesn't know how to use it yet.     Janet Jackson's debut album comes across as a mix between cheerful pop/dance and disco beats. All of the songs deal with the positives of teenage love even though Janet was only 15 when the album was released. Janet may come accross as an independen...t and mature female, although she didn't write any of the songs and she was pushed into music given the success of her brothers with their hit group, the Jackson Five. Her vocal talent is quite good for a person with such little experience in the music business. Proving that she is not just another studio created singer, Janet's vocal talents can be heard in this album. Read more Less
