When Lt. Frank Drebin of Police Squad first met comely Jane Spencer, she was executive assistant to powerful shipping magnate Vincent Ludwig. It took some doing to convince Jane that Ludwig was a crook—in fact, she remained unconvinced until her boss contrived to hypnotized ballplayer Reggie White into attempting to assassinate Queen Elizabeth during an Angels-Mariners game.
