I was happy with this unit when I first set it up and played it. I'm not an audiophile so I was just looking for something that would sound better than the TV speakers and give me quality audio to go with the HD picture. For $200 at Brandsmart, I... though it was a great value. I was very impressed by the quality of the sound. Color coded wires made for a quick and easy installation although the rear speaker wires weren't long enough for my desired placement in my family room. There aren't many connections in the back but I knew that before buying it. I hooked up the HDMI output to the TV and ran an optical line in from the cable box and that's about all I need. All was well for the first month until the DVD player crashed. The picture would freeze while the counter kept going. Eventually it would not be able to read any disk at all. And this was after only one month! Maybe my unit is a lemon but I called the JVC service center and they told me of two authorized repair centers. Very disappointing. Read more Less
