    Pros: Cheap, looks nice, small depth to fit on shelf.

    Cons: Extremely hot operating temperature. Poor manual.

    I bought the RX-D201S because it was one of the few receivers that would fit on my shelf, being only 14" deep and 3.5" tall. Looks nice, reasonably easy to navigate the features, but manual gives no earthly idea what many of the features ar...e or what they do to the sound. Unit runs Extremely HOT. Almost cannot lay my hand on top of the case, and this is with good ventilation all around and no other equipment nearby. Smell of hot electonics was very strong at first, enough that we had to open windows in the room. It is gradually getting better after 3 weeks. No smoke yet, but I certainly wouldn't leave the house with it turned on. There is a cooling fan inside somewhere; it makes a noticable sound when running, but doesn't cool down much. Read more Less

    Cons: Does not last

    My 2nd one of these in 1 year fried itself again. I got it as a gift, and have no receipt. JVC will not honor the warranty because "I probably stole it and messed it up, and now want it fixed". Avoid this and JVC.
