Alongside his longtime peer Wolfgang Voigt, J. Burger (born Jörg Burger) laid the groundwork for the Cologne minimal techno scene that arose in the mid-'90s with his music as well as with his role as a label owner. Burger and Voigt met in the early '80s and eventually found a common passion in music production. As the 1988 acid house explosion took over London, the two made an extended visit, where they reveled in the revolutionary spirit of the city's burgeoning electronic music dance...
