The rowdy and tempestuous rap artist known to the music world and her many fans as Ivy Queen was born in 1972 and given the unassuming name Martha Ivelisse Pesante. Little did they know what was to come. Ivy Queen spent her childhood in New York, beginning her rapping career with a group called the Noise. After going solo, she recorded her debut album in 1997, En Mi Imperio, under the Sony International Records label. A year later, there was a second album released, Original Rude Girl. The album carried hot tracks like "Interlude in the Zone," "Sabes Que Tu," and "Flash Back."
