    Pros: Eazys Flow

    Cons: Lyrics Dissing Dr Dre

I agree when all of you say that Eazy is the godfather of gangsta rap but without Dre's production and NWA to back him up, he isnt as good as he was back in the days of Eazy Duz It and Straight Outta Compton. Also this album starts to get boring ...because all Eazy is saying in his songs are Disses toward Dre and the rest of Death Row Records like Snoop. So listen to the song samples before you buy it and check out his other albums like Eazy Duz It, Eternal-E, and Str8 Off The Streetz. Read more Less

Though not necessarily one of rap's most shining moments by any means, It's On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa does stand as Eazy-E's best moment outside of N.W.A., showcasing his amazingly sarcastic and downright ruthless sense of wit. More than anything else, this EP was thrown together as a quick answer to Dr. Dre's The Chronic, an album ridden with lyrical shots at Eazy. Songs here such as "Real Muthaphuckkin G's" and "It's On" are pointed directly at Dre and Snoop Dogg, with Eazy showing no remorse whatsoever. The irony of this is the fact that Eazy co-opts Dre's style for this EP, rapping over production that is obviously modeled after Dre's signature flute- and synth-laden G-funk melodies of the time (produced, in part, by Dre's old partner, Yella). Sure, this release is definitely lacking in quantity (being forced to yet again resurrect "Boyz-N-the Hood"), and Eazy doesn't have much to say outside of his relentless Dre-aimed disses and his odes to sex and drugs. But despite these complai...nts, "Real Muthaphuckkin G's" and "It's On" remain some of Eazy's best solo songs ever, and "Gimmie That Nutt" remains a timeless nasty club anthem. Though it's a bit odd to consider a quickly thrown-together EP such as this to be the highlight of Eazy-E's brief solo career, it's hard to say that it isn't. It seems Dre's disses were the best motivation for Eazy's often half-hearted rap career. - Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide Read more Less

Biography

Eazy-E

Whether as a member of N.W.A., a solo act, or a label head, EazyE was one of the most controversial figures in gangsta rap. While his technical skills as a rapper were never the greatest, his distinctive delivery (invariably described as a highpitched whine), overthetop lyrics, and undeniable charisma made him a star. Following N.W.A.'s breakup, E's street credibility t... Read more
