Pros: Everything! Love it, Love It!
Cons: Her Vocals did not fit the tones
Mizz Angela's Capitol Records Debut "Intuition" was a complete smash. I was looking for this album for quite sometime. When I finally found it, I grabbed it and took a listen to it. Loved every track. A very well rounded album indeed.... The productions of Norman Connors, Vincent Brantley, Anglea Bofill, Tsuyoshi "Taka" Takayanagi and Jeff Carruthers were tight as a drum. Infectious tracks, sensual ballads and snappy midtempos. My favorite ballad is the Jacques Burvick composition "In Your Lover's Eyes". A ballad of sensual proportions. What made this song so hot was the background vocalists. ME being an avid reader of background vocalists, some of the names jumped at me like Karyn White (Superwoman fame), Sharon Bryant(Atlantic Starr fame), Nadirah Ali(Miki Howard background singer), Jeannie Tracey(Aretha Franklins' background singer), Linda Clifford (Runaway Love fame), Tramaine Hawkins (Gospel Great), and only one male out of a horde of 22 women was the 1st tenor voice of Vincent Brantley (New Edition producer fame). Back 2 the song, "In Your Lover's Eyes" went from sexy balladry to a sensualistic jazz scat which left me breathless. In less than three seconds, I was panting for a repeat. The second song that got me was "Festival/Down The Line". Funky start and then a percussion laced ending which was superb. She redid the 1978 song, "I Just Wanna Stop" from Ross Vannelli. She did his song justice. My last favorite is "Everlasting Love". This song being the last tone of the album, gave it the finishing touch that it did. Being an avid fan of the Latin Contessa, my only problem with this album is that she kept changing her voice along the songs. It sounded like she was forcing to hit the notes that she was not comfortable hitting. With her three octave voice, and the melodies that were giving to her, they did not fit her voice the way it should. Overall, this album is a hidden gem. It took me 16 years to find this album. When I found it, I won't let this go. Her vocals are not as powerful as her other recordings, but if you want infectious grooves and sexy jazzy riffs with inflectious feelings-which she emotes with the ease of a proctologist-then u should get this. Your best bet is if you are trying to get this cd, you should go on line at Amazon.com to retrieve this goldmine.Grade: Why should I grade this? Girlfriend gets A+++++++ Read more Less
