As I look at the box for TurboTax Deluxe, I see there are several new features, like stock sales impact modeling and tax history features. No mention is made of an invasive registration schema or stealth third-party products being permanently install...ed on my machine. Where is my opportunity to say No?This is down-right deceptive. I need to do my taxes, not have clandestine software loaded to track my computer usage. If this mystery software is not for that purpose - what purpose does it serve?The price I see on Amazon for TurboTax Basic is $19.99 and Costco sells TT Deluxe for $23.99. How much of that goes back to Intuit? I know software piracy is a problem, but individuals like us who purchase the software legitimately are now being punished with intrusive, damaging registration schemes that wont discourage the piracy factories that mass-produce software on a scale that really impacts Intuits bottom line. My guess is that Macrovision Corporation is financing this scheme as a way to promote its Ç-Dilla software to other vendors. The TT Box already is full of non-tax related promotional flyers, so selling my disk space to Macrovision is just another revenue stream for Intuit.Still, I cant get over the deception.
